Weather-code interpretation
Open-Meteo returns WMO weather codes. Harmattan converts them into a smaller product vocabulary in weather-data.js.

| WMO code | Category | Label |
|---|---|---|
0 | clear | Clear sky |
2 | clouds | Partly cloudy |
3 | clouds | Overcast |
45 | fog | Foggy |
48 | fog | Harmattan haze |
61 | rain | Light rain |
65 | rain | Heavy rain |
82 | rain | Violent showers |
95 | storm | Thunderstorm |
99 | storm | Severe thunderstorm |
A raw WMO code is useful to a machine but poor product language. The interpretation layer lets the rest of the interface work with stable categories rather than scattering numeric-code checks across unrelated files.
Unknown codes fall back to a cloudy presentation state.
