Quickstart

Make your first example Cedius API request in a few minutes.

Portfolio note: Cedius is an illustrative API specification created to demonstrate developer-documentation skills. The example endpoints and credentials are not connected to a live production service.

1. Use a test API key

text
cedius_test_sk_example

Never expose a real secret API key in browser-side JavaScript, a public repository, or screenshots.

2. Verify access

bash
curl https://api.cedius.app/v1/business   -H "Authorization: Bearer cedius_test_sk_example"

Example response:

json
{
  "data": {
    "id": "biz_8f3a91",
    "name": "Master Frosty Foods",
    "currency": "NGN",
    "country": "NG",
    "timezone": "Africa/Lagos"
  }
}

3. Create a customer

bash
curl -X POST https://api.cedius.app/v1/customers   -H "Authorization: Bearer cedius_test_sk_example"   -H "Content-Type: application/json"   -d '{
    "name": "Adewale Johnson",
    "email": "adewale@example.com",
    "phone": "+2348012345678",
    "company": "Johnson Ventures"
  }'

A successful request returns 201 Created.

json
{
  "data": {
    "id": "cus_4d7c21",
    "name": "Adewale Johnson",
    "email": "adewale@example.com",
    "status": "active"
  }
}

4. Retrieve the customer

bash
curl https://api.cedius.app/v1/customers/cus_4d7c21   -H "Authorization: Bearer cedius_test_sk_example"

Next step

Read Authentication, then explore the Customers API.
