Environments

Cedius distinguishes test and live usage through API-key prefixes.

Portfolio note: This environment model is part of an illustrative API specification.

Test mode

cedius_test_sk_

Use test mode for development, request validation, workflow experiments, and automated tests.

Live mode

cedius_live_sk_

In a real implementation, live requests would affect production business data.

Base URL

Both modes use the same illustrative base URL:

https://api.cedius.app/v1

The API key determines the environment.

Example configuration

Development:

CEDIUS_API_KEY=cedius_test_sk_example

Production:

CEDIUS_API_KEY=cedius_live_sk_your_secret_key

Do not commit .env files containing real credentials.

Moving from test to live

1. Build and test with a test key.
2. Verify validation and error handling.
3. Store credentials server-side.
4. Replace the test key in production.
5. Run a controlled production request.
6. Monitor request IDs and logs.
